Early in the morning we meet at your accomodation in Puerto Varas and we will head on direction to the mountains. After 45 Km. on a paved road, we reach Ensenada, located at the entrance of the park. We will continue bordering Lake Llanquihue, now heading north towards the town of cascadas, after we pass Las Cascadas, we will start climbing on the way to the trail head, wich is located in the north entry of the national park.
After a 18 km ride throught some traditional farms we will get to the entry of the park in the area of La Picada. Paso desolación is and old mountain pass.
The trail that crosses the Osorno Volcano from the small town of Puerto Clocker located at the shore of Llanquihue Lake, to Petrohué at Todos Los Santos Lake. It is a total ride of 24 km, 12 Km upward, 2 Km. flat and 10 Km. descent, with an amazing volcanic scenery. The views, as well as speed and adrenalin we can achieve on this trail are un comparable.
It worth to mention, that this trail has suffered some changes after the Calbuco Volcano eruption have put some extra sand on the trails making it a bit more challenging.
After finishing the ride we will en up in Petrohue, at this point we´ll have lunch and replenish energy to then return to Puerto Varas in our private vehicle.
